With just a day to go before the 2026 Magical Kenya Open presented by ABSA tees off at Karen Country Club in Nairobi, another opportunity beckons for the local players.

A total of 17 Kenyan players, including five amateurs, are set to tee off on Thursday, all with one target in mind: making history by becoming the first home-grown winner of the tournament.

Karen Country Club-based Edwin Mudanyi, who will be making his sixth appearance at the event, is looking forward to what the tournament has to offer, with his sights set on delivering a solid performance. “I am one of the Kenyan professionals taking part in this week’s Magical Kenya Open. I qualified through the PGK Equator Tour Order of Merit. I am excited about what the week has in store. It is exciting to be back on this stage, a stage that offers many opportunities for what my future holds in this game. I would like to have a steady week,” he said (via DP World Tour).
