SOUTH African professional Haydn Porteous maintained his place at the top of the leaderboard after moving day at the Cell C Challenge in Honour of Gary Player being played at Killarney Country Club in South Africa.

Porteous carded a two-under-par 68 in the third round to move to 14-under-par 196, holding a three-shot advantage over second-placed Kieron van Wyk and Benjamin Follett-Smith.

Following back-to-back opening rounds of 64, Porteous collected four birdies and two bogeys in his third-round effort. He made three birdies on the front nine, picking up shots at the second, fifth and seventh holes, while dropping one at the eighth to turn in 33. On the back nine, Porteous bogeyed the 10th but recovered with a birdie at the 15th, posting an inward 35 to do enough to retain his lead at the summit of the leaderboard. In second place, Van Wyk produced a superb, flawless eight-under-par 62, highlighted by eight birdies. Follett-Smith signed for a three-under-par 67, leaving the pair tied on 11-under-par 199.

The Cell C Challenge in Honour of Gary Player is the first Sunshine Tour event of 2026.
