OVERNIGHT leader Christiaan Burke maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final, taking place at Pezula Golf Estate in South Africa.

Burke carded a second-round six-under-par 66 to move to an overall 15-under-par 129. He holds a one-shot lead over Tyran Snyders and Casey Jarvis, who are both on 14-under-par 130.

Going into the second round having opened with a 63, Burke dropped just a single shot. He carded an outward 34 with a birdie on the first hole, a bogey on the fourth, and an eagle on the ninth. The South African professional then produced a flawless back nine, with birdies on the 12th, 13th, 15th and 17th holes for an inward 32. Second-placed Snyders recorded a bogey-free seven-under-par 65, while Jarvis shot a brilliant, near-flawless 10-under-par 62 to claim a share of second place. Snyders, who opened with a 65, made seven birdies in the second round. On his front nine, he picked up shots on the fourth, sixth, eighth and ninth holes. He added three more birdies on his inward nine, at the 14th, 17th and 18th. Jarvis, meanwhile, dropped just one shot on his way to a superb 62. His only blemish came at the first hole, but he followed it with birdies at the second, fourth, seventh and ninth for an outward 33. He was relentless on the inward nine, collecting five consecutive birdies on the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th holes, before closing the round with an eagle at the 18th.

Leader, Burke has finished no worse than 18th in his last five tournaments, including a runner-up finish at the Stella Artois Players Championship last week.
