FOURTEEN golfers have secured their places in the 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship following the Pre-Qualifier event held at Benoni Country Club in Benoni, South Africa, on Tuesday.

The qualifying group was led by Stals Swart and Jason Roets, who both carded seven-under-par 65s.

The 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship is scheduled to tee off at Royal Johannesburg – East Course on Thursday. Swart, who topped the leaderboard, dropped just a single shot during the Pre-Qualifier. He made an eagle on the first hole before dropping a shot on the sixth, then added a birdie on the ninth for an outward 34. After the turn, Swart did not drop a shot, picking up birdies on the 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th for an inward 31. Roets, meanwhile, produced a bogey-free front nine with birdies on the first, second and ninth for an outward 33. On the back nine, he made an albatross on the 10th, added further birdies on the 11th, 12th and 16th, while dropping shots on the 15th and 17th for an inward 32. The other golfers who made the cut at the Pre-Qualifier were Justin Walters, Graham van der Merwe, Ronald Rugumayo, Hennie O’Kennedy, Danie van Niekerk, Pierre Viallaneix, Rowan Lester, Tyran Snyders, Ruan Conradie, Jack Hawksby, Werner Deyzel and Keegan Thomas. Two golfers share third place while three share fifth. There is one golfer on position eight and six sharing position nine.

The Alfred Dunhill Championship has been played since 2000, starting at Houghton Golf Club. Anthony Wall was the tournament’s first winner.
