Venter recorded four birdies on the front nine, on the first, fourth, fifth and ninth holes for an outward 32. He added four more on the back nine at the 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th to match his front-nine score and cap a brilliant performance. Burke, who has led since the opening round, carded four birdies, an eagle and three bogeys for his 69. He dropped shots at the third and fourth, followed up with a birdie on the sixth and another bogey on the eighth an outward 38. He then delivered a flawless back nine, picking up a birdie on the 12th, an eagle on the 13th and another birdie on the 14th, before closing with a further birdie on the 18th for an inward 31.
