Sunshine Development Tour East Africa Swing

GREG Snow was unstoppable as he claimed a comfortable three-stroke victory over Njoroge Kibugu at the Sunshine Development Tour (SunDev) Betika Masters held at Limuru Country Club in Kenya on Tuesday.
Speaking after his victory, Snow said he was proud to have finally won on Tour, adding that despite the challenges of the final round, he was determined not to let the opportunity slip away. “I had a tough round today but I am glad to have pulled it off. It feels really great to have won my first title on the Tour. When I was tied with Celestin after the first nine, I was telling myself that surely you can't let this go. I was asking my caddy how the situation was as we went on and he guided me through the second nine. On the 18th I was lucky to hit the fairway after going to the rough, but I tried my best to commit to the shot and finish well,” said Snow. Having opened with a six-under-par 66, followed by a five-under-par 67 on moving day, Snow closed the tournament with a one-over-par 73. The final day proved challenging, as he carded three birdies, an eagle, and six bogeys. The Kenyan professional dropped a shot on the first hole but immediately recovered with a birdie on the second. He then dropped further shots on holes four, six and seven, before birdieing the ninth for an outward 38. On the inward nine, Snow made bogeys on the 10th and 14th holes, followed by a birdie on the 15th, and capped off his round with an eagle on the 18th. Second-placed Kibugu finished on seven-under-par 209, with rounds of 71, 69 and 69. Celestin Nsanzuwera took third place on six-under-par 210, with rounds of 69, 70 and 71. The tournament attracted 88 players, all competing for a share of the KSh 2 million prize purse, as well as Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points, World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points, and Safari Tour Order of Merit points. These are crucial for qualification for the 2026 Magical Kenya Open on the DP World Tour.
The Sunshine Development Tour – East Africa Swing now moves to its ninth leg, scheduled for next month at the PGA-accredited Vipingo Ridge Golf Resort in Kilifi County. The season will then culminate with the Tour Finale in January 2026 at Karen Country Club, where the top 30 players from the Tour will face off against the top 30 from the Betway Big Easy Tour. The finalists will compete for coveted Sunshine Tour cards.
