The three Highlanders FC executives who lost their lives in an accident
THE Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) has joined the nation in mourning the tragic loss of Highlanders Football Club executives who died in a road traffic accident on Thursday evening.
The accident, which occurred along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, claimed the lives of club chairman Colonel (Rtd) Kenneth Mhlophe, vice-chairman Sifiso “Fiso” Siziba, treasurer Nkani Khoza and club member Mbalenhle Sibanda.
In a statement, the ZGA said it stood in solidarity with the Bosso family during this difficult period, adding that the three leaders’ dedication and contribution to football would always be remembered.
“The Zimbabwe Golf Association extends its heartfelt condolences on the tragic passing of Mr Kenneth Mhlophe (Club Chairman), Mr Sifiso Siziba (Vice Chairman), and Mr Nkani Khoza (Treasurer). We stand with their families, loved ones, and the entire Highlanders FC community during this devastating period of bereavement.
“Their immense dedication, leadership, and service to the club will forever be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the football fraternity and all those affected by this immense loss. May their dear souls rest in eternal peace,” read the statement.
A joint memorial service to celebrate and honour the lives of the quartet will be held on Monday at Barbourfields Stadium.
The four were granted State-assisted funerals in recognition of their service, with the memorial service expected to bring together family, friends, the football fraternity and members of the public to pay their final respects.
