Fresh from representing Zimbabwe at the Region 5 Golf Championship in Eswatini, Chidambazina opened the tournament with a one-under-par 71, one shot behind Gondo, who opened with a 70. In the afternoon’s second round, Chidambazina carded the day’s lowest round with a brilliant three-under-par 69. His superb 69 featured an eagle, four birdies, a double bogey and a bogey. On the front nine, Chidambazina birdied the first hole, followed by a bogey at the third and an eagle at the seventh. On the back nine, he added another birdie at the 10th hole, followed by another at the 15th, before carding a double bogey at the 16th. He picked up another birdie at the 17th to wrap up a brilliant performance. After opening with a 70, Gondo carded 74 in the second round while Zulu has round scores of 74 and 70. The duo are on level-par 144.
