ZIMBABWEAN professional Visitor Mapwanya and his Rwandan counterpart, Celestin Nsanzuwera share the lead at the top of the leaderboard after round one of the Sunshine Development Tour (SunDev) East Africa Swing SportsBiz Africa Championship at Kigali Golf Resort & Villas, in Kigali, Rwanda.

The duo both carded four-under-par 68 and hold a one-stroke advantage over Haydn Porteous, CJ Wangai, Erick Ooko Obura and Travis Procter who are all on three-under-par 69.

Mapwanya had a near perfect round as he dropped just a single shot towards the end. His only bogey came on the par-four 16th hole, having previously carded five birdies. On the front nine, he picked up birdies on the par-five first, the par-four third, the par-five sixth, the par-three eighth and the par-five ninth holes. On his back nine, Mapwanya made a single birdie on the par-five 13th. Nsanzuwera had an eventful start, going birdie, bogey and eagle in his first three holes. Overall, he carded four birdies, one eagle and two bogeys with his eagle coming on the par-four third hole. He made birdie on number one, six, nine and 12. He bogeyed number two and 13 for a solid start in the ‘Land of Thousand Hills.’
