MOROCCO further ascertained their status as a golfing powerhouse following their total domination at the recently concluded 2025 Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship at Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club in Egypt.
In the boys’ team categories, Morocco claimed the first prize in the Under-18s event, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Tunisia finishing second and third, respectively. Morocco also won gold in the Under-16s category, followed by the hosts, Egypt, and Jordan. They also scooped the top accolade in the Under-13s event, followed by Egypt and Tunisia in second and third, respectively. In the girls’ team championships, Morocco took home gold in the ladies’ event, edging out UAE and Tunisia in second and third places, respectively, before going on to secure yet another gold medal in the Under-16s category, where Tunisia and Jordan secured second and third places, respectively. The boys’ Under-18 individual event saw Salem Al Abkal (+7) from Kuwait and Amine El Omari (+7) from Morocco finish tied, while UAE’s Rashed Ali Alnakby (+11) followed on the leaderboard. Danil Sokolov from Qatar shot a brilliant -9 to win the boys’ Under-16 individual championship, with Alieldin Salama (-3) from Egypt securing second place, while Mohammed Baouhamou (E) finished third. Ilyes Cauden (+5) of Morocco won the boys’ Under-13 championship, with Jalal Ataya (+17) from Lebanon coming in second place. In third was Mohamed Mehdi Fakori (+18), also of Morocco. Rim Imni from Morocco went on to dominate the ladies’ event with a brilliant -7, 14 strokes ahead of second-placed Hannah Cheryl Alan (+7) from UAE, and 16 ahead of Sara Ali Abubaker (+9), also from the UAE. Morocco’s Noha Ghadi (+8) clinched the girls’ Under-16 individual championship, while Lara Bakhour (+16) of Lebanon secured second place. In third was Sophia Zbiri (+16) from Morocco. The Moroccan duo of Fatima Zahara (+5) and Samah Melhli (+6) finished first and second, respectively, in the girls’ Under-13 championship, with Maya Stamboul (+37) of Tunisia coming in third. The Under-13 boys and girls competitions were played over 36 holes while the other categories were 54 holes.
The tournament brought together at least 110 young golfers from 15 Arab nations and was sanctioned by the Arab Golf Federation.
