WANDRE Snyman moved into the outright lead after the second round of the Betway Big Easy Tour 7 at Soweto Country Club, taking a one-shot advantage into the final round.
Snyman sits atop the leaderboard on five-under-par 139, one stroke clear of Kian Coetzer with 18 holes remaining.
Having started the day tied for the lead with Leon Visser, Snyman signed for a second-round 71. He opened with a bogey at the fourth before responding with birdies at the sixth and eighth. A bogey at the ninth saw him make the turn in level-par 35.
On the back nine, Snyman birdied the 11th and 14th, but gave a shot back with a bogey before adding another birdie at the 16th. A closing bogey on the 18th resulted in an inward 36, enough to secure the outright lead.
Coetzer, who opened the tournament with a 69, also carded a 71 in round two. His round featured birdies at the third, fourth and 13th, offset by bogeys at the seventh and 15th, leaving him on four-under-par 140.
Amateur Jonathan Wilsenach, Ethan Gough and Visser are tied for third on three-under-par 141.
Carl Mwale occupies sixth place on two-under-par 142, while Danie van Niekerk, Evance Vukeya and Corey Sheppard share seventh on one-under-par 143.
