Sheppard secured a two-stroke victory over Kian Coetzer to enter this season’s winners’ circle.

Speaking after his win, Sheppard said it was great to finally finish on top after playing well throughout the season. He added that he was proud of the way he performed throughout the tournament.

“I’m buzzing to be fair. It’s alway great to get a win and i’ve been chasing a win on this tour for a little while. I have been playing well all season, just haven’t managed to quite get to the top. I played really well all day, i just tried to keep to my own game and not overthink it and got some good breaks and nice putts. I’m really happy i managed to get it done,” he said (via Betway Big Easy Tour).

Sheppard finished the tournament on 15-under-par 201. He opened with a four-under-par 68, leaving him three shots behind the leading duo of Ruan de Smidt and Sentanio Minnie.

On moving day, he carded a near-flawless 69 to move up the leaderboard into a share of fourth, one shot behind the leading trio of De Smidt, Jordan Wessels and Francois van Staden.

He then produced a brilliant closing eight-under-par 64 to claim the title.

Sheppard made a flying start to his final round, picking up birdies at the second and third holes before an eagle at the fourth. He dropped a shot at the sixth but responded with another birdie at the ninth to make the turn in 32.

After the turn, he added further birdies at the 10th, 12th and 13th before dropping a shot at the 14th. He then birdied the 15th and 17th to card another 32 on the back nine.
