JACO Ahlers produced a superb performance to secure a top-10 finish at the recently concluded Moutai Singapore Open which was held at The Singapore Island Country Club.

The South African professional finished tied for sixth on 15-under-par 273, just four shots off the lead.

Ahlers opened the tournament with a four-under-par 68, which featured seven birdies and three bogeys. He was tied for 17th position after the first round, four strokes behind the then leader, Jeunghun Wang, who had opened with a 64. In the second round, he carded a bogey-free three-under-par 69 with birdies on holes two, 10, and 18. He followed that up with another 69 on moving day. His third round comprised five birdies and a double bogey. He picked up birdies on holes two, seven, nine, 17, and 18, while the double bogey came on the 16th. At that stage, he was tied for 18th position on 10-under-par 206, five strokes behind the leader, Wang. He then closed with a bogey-free five-under-par 67, collecting birdies on the eighth, ninth, 10th, 14th, and 18th holes to climb the leaderboard into the top 10. Ahlers earned 123.75 Order of Merit points for his efforts. His compatriot Ian Snyman finished tied for 11th on 13-under-par 275, with rounds of 69, 65, 69, and 72.

Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent finished tied for 12th position on 12-under-par 276, with rounds of 65, 71, 69, and 71.
