His third round comprised five birdies and a double bogey. He picked up birdies on holes two, seven, nine, 17, and 18, while the double bogey came on the 16th. At that stage, he was tied for 18th position on 10-under-par 206, five strokes behind the leader, Wang. He then closed with a bogey-free five-under-par 67, collecting birdies on the eighth, ninth, 10th, 14th, and 18th holes to climb the leaderboard into the top 10. Ahlers earned 123.75 Order of Merit points for his efforts. His compatriot Ian Snyman finished tied for 11th on 13-under-par 275, with rounds of 69, 65, 69, and 72.
