MOROCCO’S record-breaking golfer, Adam Bresnu, is confident that he will continue his impressive form following his historic performance at the recently concluded 2025 World Amateur Team Championship (WATC), held at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

Bresnu finished tied for third at the world’s premier amateur team championship, the best place finish by a Moroccan or Arab player in the history of the Eisenhower Trophy. He also led the North African nation to their best ever finish in the competition, position 20.

He finished the tournament on 10-under-par 278, sharing third place with France’s Oscar Couilleau, 12-shots behind the individual winner, South Africa’s Christiaan Maas. On the final team leaderboard, Morocco finished on two-under-par 574. Speaking after his performance in Singapore, Bresnu said his result reflected the hard work that he and his team had put in. Although the ultimate goal was to win both individually and as a team, he expressed pride in his achievements and gave full credit to Maas. With his performance at the global showpiece, Bresnu is confident of setting more records. “I am very proud of what I have accomplished. It shows once again that I am on the right path and that the work I have been doing with my team is paying off. My goal was to win individually and as a team but Christiaan was on another planet, nobody could beat him. Breaking records feels amazing and with the goals I have, I am sure I will be breaking more records in Arab golf,” said Bresnu. Bresnu opened the tournament with a one-under-par 71 and followed it up with a bogey-free four-under-par 68 which featured four birdies. On moving day, he carded a nearly flawless two-under-par 70 where he shot three birdies while dropping just a single shot. He then closed off with a three-under-par 69, making five birdies, including back to back on the first two holes and two bogeys.

The Moroccan team at this year’s WATC comprised Bresnu, Alex El Khomri and Hugo Mazen Trommetter.
