THE 2024/2025 Tunisia Golf Championship came to a conclusion at La Cigale Tabarka Golf Course, ending in triumph for Baha Boulakmine and Israa Bouamor.

Bouamor, who made history by winning her first national title last year, successfully defended her crown, becoming a two-time women’s champion. Meanwhile, Boulakmine, who first won the men's title in 2023 in Djerba, reclaimed his position at the top, this time under a revised competition format that rewarded consistency across the season.

Under the new formula, points were accumulated across various rounds throughout the championship season, with the final event serving as the decider. In the women’s competition, Feriel Chahed appeared poised for a long-awaited victory. A former champion at the 2020 edition in El Kantaoui, she dominated the Tabarka event, finishing with a total of 252 strokes, five ahead of Yasmina Driss and seven clear of Bouamor. However, her modest results earlier in the season ultimately cost her the title. Bouamor, who finished third in the final round with 259 strokes, had already built a strong lead through her steady performances during the season. Her cumulative score of 15 601 points secured her a successful title defence, ahead of Chahed (13 146 points) and Driss (11 094 points), who completed the podium. In the men’s division, the final was marked by the thrilling return of Aziz Dardouri, the 2022 Arab Junior Champion, who engaged in a four-day duel with Rabeh Bedoui. Dardouri edged out Bedoui by a single stroke (296 to 297) in a memorable battle. However, both were narrowly denied the title due to lower seasonal points totals. Thanks to his regular and high-level performances throughout the year, Boulakmine emerged as the men’s champion with 15 131 points. Dardouri followed in second place with 13 851 points while Bedoui secured third on 13 122 points. Tunisian Golf Federation president Maher Bouchamaoui expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the season a success. “On behalf of the Tunisian Golf Federation, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2024/2025 Tunisia Golf Championship season. Although I was unfortunately unable to attend the closing ceremony due to professional reasons, I am wholeheartedly with you and proud of the excellent execution of this national competition. “I would particularly like to thank La Cigale Tabarka Golf Course and the Carthage Golf Club (CGC) association for their effective collaboration in co-organising this final. My most sincere thanks also go to the Sancella Group, a loyal partner of the FTG for many years, for its consistent commitment and renewed support. Thanks to the support of all partners, we were able to offer participants an event that lived up to our expectations.

“Finally, I congratulate all the winners for their performances and thank all the association leaders, golf course staff, referees, the FTG team, volunteers, and enthusiasts who made this championship final a highlight of the sports season,” said Bouchamaoui in a statement.
