CHARLOTTE Millard has maintained her spot at the top of the leaderboard after round two of the Egyptian Ladies Open, which is part of the ongoing Egyptian Junior and Ladies Open taking place at Newgiza Golf Club.

Millard, who opened with a five-under-par 67, carded a one-under-par 71 in the second round on Friday to move to six-under-par 138, two shots ahead of her South African compatriot Isabella Ferreira, who sits on four-under-par 140.

The Killarney Country Club member’s second round included an eagle, five birdies, and six bogeys. She began her round with a bogey on the first hole, followed by a birdie on the second and another bogey on the third. She then dropped another shot on the fourth hole before making an eagle on the fifth and a further bogey on the sixth. Another bogey followed at the ninth to complete an eventful front nine. On the back nine, Millard picked up a birdie on the 11th, added another on the 13th, but gave one back with a bogey on the 14th. She recovered well, collecting two more birdies on the 15th and 17th to close out a lively round. Ferreira, in second place, carded a solid second-round 68, featuring five birdies and just a single bogey. Tunisia’s Israa Bouamor sits in third on one-over-par 145. In the junior events, Czech Republic’s Ondřej Chromčík leads the 18-year-old boys’ category on one-under-par 143, with round scores of 74 and 69. He holds a one-shot advantage over Egypt’s Alieldin Salama, who is on level-par 144 with rounds of 73 and 71. Yasmina Driss, the sole competitor in the 18-year-old girls’ category, stands on 13-over-par 157 with scores of 81 and 76. In the 16-year-old boys’ division, Egypt’s Omar Yousry holds a one-stroke lead over compatriot Abd El Rahman El Defrawy. Yousry is on four-over-par 148 with rounds of 71 and 77, while El Defrawy sits on five-over-par 149 with rounds of 70 and 79. Yasmeen Thaher from Palestine enjoys a commanding seven-shot lead in the 16-year-old girls’ category. She stands on eight-over-par 152, with Egypt’s Nour Baly in second place on 15-over-par 159 following rounds of 79 and 80. In the 13-year-old boys’ event, Egypt’s Adib Shaban tops the leaderboard on level-par 144 after rounds of 73 and 71. He leads by six strokes over Daniel Thaher of Palestine, who is on six-over-par 150 with consecutive rounds of 75. Lina Barhoumi from Tunisia leads the 13-year-old girls’ division on three-over-par 147 with rounds of 71 and 76. In second place is Egypt’s Sahar Mourad, on 41-over-par 185 after rounds of 93 and 92.

In the nine-hole 10-year-old boys’ event, Egypt’s Amin Kandil shot two-over-par 38 to take the lead, followed by Canada’s Adam Gomaa on 41. In the girls’ category, Maya Anwar carded 50, while Lara Anwar finished with 55.
