LEON Visser now holds a solo lead at the top of the leaderboard following the conclusion of the second round of the King’s Cup at Ezulwini Golf & Country Club in Eswatini.
Visser carded a second-round four-under-par 68 to move to 10-under-par 134 overall, two shots ahead of second-placed Thanda Mavundla.
Going into the second round sharing the overnight lead with Michael Wallace and Joe Knox, Visser bogeyed the third hole before recovering with birdies at the sixth and ninth holes for an outward 35.
After the turn, he made an eagle at the 12th, bogeyed the 14th, birdied the 15th, bogeyed the 16th and eagled the 17th for an inward 33, enough to take the outright lead.
Second-placed Mavundla, who opened with a 70, carded a 66 in the second round to move to eight-under-par 136. His second-round 66 comprised eight birdies and two bogeys.
Zachary Chegwidden and Brandon Pieters share third place on seven-under-par 137, while Jacques Van der Merwe, Toto Thimba Jnr and Wallace are tied for fifth on six-under-par 138.
Knox, Ruan Groenewald and Ruben Van Der Berg are tied for 10th on five-under-par 139.
