HARRY Konig has taken over the lead after round two of the Betway Big Easy Tour 7 taking place at Soweto Country Club in South Africa.

The English professional signed for a two-under-par 70 to move to an overall seven-under-par 137, overtaking overnight leader Jaden Deltel into the top of the leaderboard. Konig holds a slender one-stroke lead.

Second placed Deltel is on six-under-par 138. Konig, who began the second round tied for second with Austin Cherichella, just one shot behind Deltel, recorded four birdies and two bogeys during Wednesday’s round. On his front nine, he made bogey on the par-three seventh hole before bouncing back with a birdie on the par-four eighth hole to make the turn on level-par 35. On the back nine, Konig picked up birdies on the par-five 10th and 12th holes, as well as the par-four 13th hole. He dropped another shot on the par-four 15th hole for an inward two-under-par 35.

Deltel’s second round featured two birdies and as many bogeys. In third place, Wandre Synman and Brandon Pieters are tied on five-under-par 139 after shooting second round scores of 67 and 69 respectively.
