AFTER leading through the first two rounds, Kaiyuree Moodley held her nerve to secure a play-off victory over Kiera Floyd following a dramatic final round at the Auma Ladies Classic held at the Ebotse Links in South Africa on Wednesday.

Moodley, who began the final round with a one-stroke lead over amateur Kaylah Williams, closed with a level-par 72. Floyd, meanwhile, who started the day five shots behind, produced a superb five-under-par 67 to force a play-off.

Both players finished tied on five-under-par 211, but Moodley kept her composure in the play-off to clinch the title. The champion opened the tournament with a four-under-par 68, featuring five birdies and one bogey, to take a two-shot lead over Williams. In the second round, she carded a one-under-par 71 to maintain her advantage at the top of the leaderboard. Heading into the final round on five-under-par 139, Moodley’s closing 72 included four birdies and four bogeys. Floyd, who had started on level-par 144 after rounds of 71 and 73, dropped just one shot in the final round while making six birdies to pull level and force a play-off.

Danielle du Toit finished third on three-under-par 213 with rounds of 71, 73 and 69. The Bushveld Tour is a mini-pro circuit for professional and competitive amateur golfers in South Africa.
