ZIMBABWE’S leading amateur golfer, Keegan Shutt is sitting at the top of the latest Zimbabwe Golf Association’s (ZGA) Order of Merit (OoM), having also made gains on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), moving three places.
Shutt is also the highest-ranked Zimbabwean on the WAGR men’s rankings, positioned at 369, up from 372. Munesu Chimhini rose from 649 to 598, while Vincent Chidambazina, the third-highest placed Zimbabwean, sitting at 647, down from 626. On the ZGA OoM rankings, Shutt amassed 46 points at the national grand major, the 72-hole Zimbabwe Amateur Championship in July which was won by Nathan Van Rooyen. In March, Shutt completed a hat-trick of victories, winning the Julius Robinson Golf Tournament at Wingate Park Golf Club, Manicaland Amateur at Hillside Golf Club and the Matabeleland Amateur at Bulawayo Country Club. In those three events, he collected 55, 50, and 52 points respectively. Shutt also earned points at the Dugmore Trophy (27), Chapman Grandslam (13) and at the Region V Championship (48). Second placed Chatora accumulated points at the Zimbabwe Amateur (25), Zimbabwe Matchplay (50), Mawegu Amateur (31), Matabeleland Amateur (26), Masvingo Amateur (58), Manicaland Amateur (32), Dugmore (32) and Chapman Grandslam (32). In third place on the OoM there is Kelvin Muchenje with 257 points followed by Elton Zulu with 250 points and Darlington Chikanyambidze with 244. Shijie Li sits in position six with 238 points while in number seven, Michael Wallace has 219 points.
Chimhini, Shephard Chiwaya and Munyaradzi Sithole complete the top 10 with 209, 197 and 151 points respectively.
