KENYA Golf Federation (KGF) president Phillip Ochola has said they are honoured to be hosting the 2026 All Africa Junior Team Championship (AAJTC), scheduled to take place at Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club in Nairobi from 23 to 26 March.

Over 120 junior golfers from across 14 African countries are set to compete in the prestigious tournament.

Ochola said the event offers the continent’s emerging stars an opportunity to showcase their talent on an international stage. “It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the All Africa Junior Team Championship 2026, one of the most important junior golf events on the African calendar. This championship brings together the continent’s most talented young golfers and provides them with a valuable platform to compete, grow, and showcase their abilities on an international stage. “Kenya is honoured to host this prestigious championship at the beautiful Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, where over 120 junior golfers from across Africa will come together in the spirit of competition, friendship, and sportsmanship,” said Ochola. He added: “The tournament not only highlights the exceptional talent emerging from across the continent but also reflects the continued growth and development of junior golf in Africa. The Kenya Golf Federation remains firmly committed to supporting the growth of golf in Kenya and strengthening the structures that nurture young talent. Events such as the All Africa Junior Team Championship are essential in providing young athletes with meaningful opportunities to test themselves against their peers while gaining valuable international exposure.” Since its inception, the AAJTC has played a significant role in developing Africa’s future golfing stars. Many of the juniors who participated in previous editions have gone on to pursue collegiate golf opportunities and professional careers around the world. “This demonstrates the importance of creating competitive platforms that help young athletes take the next step in their golfing journeys. I would like to commend the tremendous efforts of the Junior Golf Foundation, the Kenya Golf Union, the Kenya Ladies Golf Union, and the African Golf Confederation for their leadership and dedication in organising this important continental championship. “I also extend sincere appreciation to our sponsors, partners, and stakeholders whose continued support makes events like this possible,” said Ochola. He also called on the players to compete with determination, integrity and respect for the game. “To all the young golfers participating in this championship, I encourage you to compete with determination, integrity, and respect for the game. You represent the future of golf in Africa, and your participation in this championship is an important step in your sporting journey. “On behalf of the Kenya Golf Federation, I warmly welcome all visiting teams, officials, and guests to Kenya and wish everyone a successful and memorable championship,” he said. The 14 competing nations are Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Zambia, Egypt, Tunisia, Namibia, Nigeria, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana.

The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the Toyota Junior World Cup of Golf in Nagoya, Japan, with the winners in both the boys’ and girls’ categories securing a place at the global showpiece.
