In the women’s event, Raad finished on one-over-par 217 with rounds of 74, 71 and 72. Second-placed Brown ended on three-over-par 219 after rounds of 73, 74 and 72. Raad’s opening 74 saw her tied for second with Kesha Louw and Orateng Maphake, one shot behind leader Brown. She moved into the outright lead in the second round with a 71. The 18-year-old’s closing level-par 72 featured three birdies and three bogeys. On the front nine, she picked up a birdie at the fifth but dropped shots at the sixth and ninth for an outward 37. On the back nine, she added birdies at the 12th and 15th, conceding a shot at the 16th for an inward 35.
