OLIVER Goldhill was firing on all cylinders in the second round of the Race to Sunshine Tour Q-School #1, taking place at The Els Club Copperleaf in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa.

The South African professional carded a brilliant bogey-free 10-under-par 62 to move to an overall 11-under-par 133, three strokes ahead of second-placed round one overnight co-leader Daniel Cronje, who sits on eight-under-par 136.

Goldhill, who began the day as part of a six-way tie for fifth, carded 10 birdies in the penultimate round. It was a birdie feast, with four in succession on holes four, five, six, and seven for an outward 32. On the inward nine, he added six more birdies, first back-to-back on holes 11 and 12, followed by two on 14 and 15, and closing strongly with further birdies on the 17th and 18th to cap a superb round. Second-placed Cronje, who shared the overnight lead with amateur Jere Brits, produced a bogey-free five-under-par 67 in round two. He picked up birdies on holes nine, 10, 11, 12, and 16. Brits is now in third place, tied with Louis Liebenberg on six-under-par 138.
