AN impressive six-under-par 66 on moving day has propelled Reece McKain to the top of the leaderboard at the Blue Label Bushveld Tour Srixon Series #4 taking place at Benoni Country Club in, Gauteng, South Africa.

McKain began the second round on Tuesday seven shots off the lead, but his 66 saw him climb nine places to take a one-stroke advantage over amateur Jan-Hendrik Nieuwoudt. He now sits at six-under-par 138.

After an opening level-par 72 which left him tied for position 10, McKain’s second round was near perfect, dropping a single shot on the 17th hole, a hole which the leading pack dropped shots. His second round featured seven birdies, four on the front nine at holes number four, six, eight and nine. He then added three consecutive birdies on his back nine on number 13, 14 and 15 to round off a solid performance. Nieuwoudt, who opened with a 67 on round one followed it up with a level-par 72 on moving day. LB Boshoff and Brandon Pieters are tied for third place on four-under-par 140 after carding 66 and 75 on round two respectively.

The Bushveld Tour is a mini-pro tour for professional and competitive amateur golfers in South Africa and a feeder tour for players to prepare and make their way to the Sunshine Tour and other main tours around the world.
