THE trio of Michael Karanga, Dismas Indiza and Edwin Mudanyi share the lead following the conclusion of the second round of the Sunshine Development Tour-East Africa Swing 3 Kabete Challenge at Vet Lab Sports Club.
After opening with a level-par 72, Karanga carded a 71 on moving day. He had a near-flawless front nine, dropping just a single shot at the eighth while picking up birdies at the second, seventh and ninth holes for an outward 34. After the turn, he made back-to-back bogeys at the 10th and 11th holes before birdieing the 14th. He dropped another shot at the 16th and added a further birdie at the 17th for an inward 37. Indiza, who opened with a 74, carded a brilliant 69 on Monday, the day’s lowest round. On his front nine, Indiza made a birdie at the third hole and bogeyed the fifth, but recovered with two more birdies at the seventh and ninth for an outward 34. After making the turn, he bogeyed the 14th but bounced back with back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th for an inward 35. Mudanyi also carded a 71 in the second round after opening with a 72. He started his round with a bogey at the second hole before birdieing the seventh and eighth holes for an outward 35. On his back nine, he added another birdie at the 11th and bogeyed the 17th for an inward 36.
Fourth-placed Owiti and Balala carded rounds of 71 and 72 respectively on moving day.
