IN-FORM Rwandan professional Celestine Nsanzuwera has taken the lead at the 2025 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open Championship following a brilliant third round six-under-par 65 at Lugazi Hills Golf and Country Club on Friday.

Nsanzuwera now holds a two-stroke advantage over Kenyan veteran Dismas Indiza, having entered the penultimate round trailing by a single shot. He is now on an overall six-under-par 207 after 54 holes.

The Rwandan professional began round three on level-par 142, just behind Indiza who was on one-under-par 141. He then played the best round of the day, carding eight birdies and just two bogeys to cap off a brilliant outing. Nsanzuwera made birdie on the par-four second hole, followed by another one on the par-four fifth. However, he dropped a shot with a bogey on the par-four sixth hole to make the turn in 33 strokes. He then started his back nine with a bogey on the par-five 10th hole before bouncing back with back to back birdies on holes 11 and 12. Nsanzuwera made par on number 13 and 14 but closed off his round in remarkable style, with four consecutive birdies, enough to see him claim the lead.

Second placed Indiza is on four-under-par 209 with round scores of 69, 72, and 68. Robson Chinhoi sits in third place on three-under-par 210 with rounds of 71, 72 and 67.
