KENYAN professionals, CJ Wangai and Njoroge Kibugu both produced brilliant performances to take a share of the lead after round two of the SunDev Betika Masters at Vetlab Sports Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

The pair sit on seven-under-par 137, holding a slender one-shot advantage over third placed Celestin Nsanzuwera on six-under-par 138.

Wangai went into the second round tied for sixth on one-under-par 71, three shots behind overnight leader Greg Snow who had opened with a 68. He then carded a brilliant six-under-par 66 which featured eight birdies and two bogeys. He picked up back to back birdies on holes number one and two, followed by a bogey on the third and another birdie on the sixth. On the back nine, Wangai made four consecutive birdies on holes number 12, 13, 14 and 15, followed by a bogey on the 16th. He closed with another birdie on the 18th. Meanwhile, Kibugu played a bogey-free round, carding five-under-par 67 on Monday, having started the day on two-under-par 70 and part of a four-way tie for second place. Kibugu carded three birdies and an eagle. He picked up a birdie and an eagle on the third and seventh holes respectively. He added two more birdies on the 12th and 15th holes to complete a solid performance.
