AMATEUR golfer, Jere Brits has taken a two-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard following the conclusion of the second round of the Blu Label Bushveld Tour Srixon Series #5 taking place at Krugersdorp Golf Club in South Africa.

Brits carded four-under-par 68 on moving day to leapfrog Daniel Cronje to the summit of the leaderboard. He now sits on an overall eight-under-par 136 having carded another 68 on round one.

Starting the day two shots behind the overnight leader Cronje, Britz dropped two shots during the round. His performance featured six birdies and the two bogeys, both of which came on the back nine. Brits picked up back to back birdies on holes number two and three before adding another one on the sixth. He then closed out his front nine with consecutive birdies on holes number eight and nine. On the back nine, he made another birdie on number 12 before dropping a shot on the 13th followed by another bogey on the 16th. Second placed Cronje carded a level-par 72 with four birdies and as many bogeys. He is on an overall six-under-par 138, one shot ahead of third placed Jacques Van der Merwe who is on five-under-par 139.
