THE South African duo of Dylan Frittelli and Thriston Lawrence produced solid performances to secure top-10 finishes at the Dubai Invitational which took place at Dubai Creek Resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Frittelli and Lawrence finished tied on five-under-par 279 as part of a three-way tie for 10th place. They were just five shots behind the winner, Nacho Elvira who carded a 10-under-par 274.

Starting the final round on six-under-par 207, two shots off the lead, Frittelli closed with a one-over-par 72, making three birdies and four bogeys. The 35-year-old, who was chasing his fourth DP World Tour title, picked up a birdie on the opening hole before dropping shots at the seventh and eighth holes to turn in 36. After the turn, he dropped another shot at the 10th but recovered with a birdie at the 13th. However, he dropped another shot at the 14th before finishing strongly with a birdie at the 18th for an inward 36. Lawrence, meanwhile, moved up seven places during the final round after closing with a near-flawless four-under-par 67. He made a brilliant start, picking up four consecutive birdies at the third, fourth, fifth and sixth holes for an outward 31. He added another birdie at the 10th after the turn before making his only bogey of the round at the 16th for an inward 36. With Frittelli and Lawrence tied for 10th, Jacques Kruyswijk finished tied for 15th on three-under-par 281 after closing with a 72. Shaun Norris and Jayden Schaper were part of a five-way tie for 20th place on one-under-par 283 after closing rounds of 72 and 71 respectively.

Ockie Strydom finished 56th on 15-over-par 299, while Dylan Naidoo placed 58th on 22-over-par 306.
