Wandre Snyman and Leon Visser share a one-shot lead at the top of the leaderboard following the opening round of the Betway Big Easy Tour 7 at Soweto Country Club on Tuesday.

Snyman and Visser both carded opening rounds of four-under-par 68 to take a share of the lead.

On his front nine, Snyman produced a near-flawless display, with just one dropped shot. He birdied the first, third and fifth holes before bogeying the sixth. He bounced back with another birdie at the ninth to go out in 32.

After the turn, Snyman birdied the 10th, eagled the 12th and added another birdie at the 13th. However, a quadruple bogey at the 14th halted his momentum before he recovered with a birdie at the 16th to come home in 36.

Visser, meanwhile, endured a difficult start, opening with a double bogey at the first before recovering with birdies at the third and sixth. He dropped another shot at the seventh to make the turn in 36.

His back nine was outstanding, as he reeled off four consecutive birdies from the 12th to the 15th before adding another at the 18th for a flawless inward 32.

Werner Deyzel and Kian Coetzer share third place on three-under-par 69, while Lwazi Gqira, Drikus Joubert, Allister de Kock and Joe Knox are tied for fifth on two-under-par 70.

Noel Anderson, Brandon Gildenhuys, Ethan Gough, and amateurs Luke Truter and Jonathan Wilsenach share ninth place on one-under-par 71.
