Stalian Daka

Zambian golfer Stalian Daka holds a one-shot lead after the second day of the Zimbabwe Amateur at Chapman Golf Club in Harare.

Daka sits atop the leaderboard on six-over-par 222 after 54 holes, with 36 holes contested on Saturday, giving him a narrow advantage over Keegan Shutt heading into the final round.

The Zambian opened the tournament with an impressive one-under-par 71 on Friday before carding a four-over-par 76 in Saturday morning’s second round. He followed that with a three-over-par 75 in the afternoon to maintain his place at the summit.

Daka’s third round featured five birdies at the fifth, sixth, ninth, 16th and 17th holes. However, bogeys at the first, fourth, seventh, 11th, 12th and 14th, together with a double bogey at the eighth, prevented him from extending his lead.

Shutt produced the round of the day to move into second place. After opening with a 78 on Friday and adding a 77 in the second round, he fired a brilliant four-under-par 68 in the third round to close within one shot of the leader.

His final round included birdies at the first, second, ninth, 11th, 14th and 18th holes, offset by bogeys at the 12th and 13th.

Overnight leader Nathaniel Zidya slipped into a tie for third place alongside Bruce Pritchard, with both players sitting on eight-over-par 224.

The winner of the Zimbabwe Amateur will earn a place in the 2027 Zimbabwe Open.
