MICHAEL Hollick added another milestone to his golfing career with a composed two-stroke victory over Herman Loubser and Pieter Moolman at the FNB Eswatini Challenge, held at Ezulwini Golf & Country Club.

Hollick closed with a 68 on Saturday, finishing on 16-under-par 200 to secure his fourth title on the Sunshine Tour.

The victory was not only significant for the South African professional but also for his caddie, Clavie Taderera, who was honored during the prize giving ceremony with a Sunshine Tour winning caddie medal. Hollick started the tournament with a four-under-par 68 in the opening round. His opening round featured an eagle on the par-five fifth hole before while making birdies on number four, 12, 13 and 15. He shot a double bogey on the par-five 17th. On moving day, Hollick produced a brilliant 64 to take the lead. His second round included two eagles, six birdies and two bogeys. In the closing round, Hollick shot an eagle, four birdies and dropped a shot once to secure the title. He eagled the par-five 12th hole having opened with back to back birdies. “My game plan was the same, try and get the ball in the fairway and don’t try and overpower this golf course. It is a short course and a score-able one, but it still requires a lot of tactics and placing your ball in the right areas. The par fives give you a lot of opportunities around here and when you have a lot of iron shots into the par fives you can make a score,” he said.

With Loubser and Moolman tied for second, Paul Boshoff and Germany’s Allen John shared fourth place, both finishing at 13-under 203. The next event on the Sunshine Tour is the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Parys Golf & Country Estate starting on Friday.
