A NEAR-flawless final-round six-under-par 66 was enough to see Zimbabwean professional Stuart Krog secure a one-stroke victory over Jason Roets at the 2026 Mopani Zambia Open held at Nkana Golf Club.
Speaking after his win, Krog said he played dream golf on Sunday in the final round. “I am so excited. Being plus four through two rounds, i knew i was going to need a big weekend and today a big day and i just played dream golf today. I loved every second of it, and i still can’t believe it. It’s something i have dreamt of for the last couple of years, had a couple of close calls but i just really can’t process any of the feelings right now. “I just tried to stay present the whole day, so it’s going to take a while to move out of that. I just tried to keep quiet, putt, hit balls, expect anything and i’m glad i really got it done today,” said Krog (via Sunshine Tour). The Zimbabwean professional opened with a four-over-par 76 before following it up with a level-par 72 in the second round. On moving day, he carded a near-flawless 69, dropping just a single shot. Going into the final round on one-over-par 217, tied for 14th place and eight shots behind overnight leader Roets, Krog dropped just a single shot on Sunday. On the front nine, he picked up five birdies at the second, fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth holes, while dropping a shot at the sixth for an outward 32. After the turn, he produced a flawless back nine, adding birdies at the 12th and 13th for an inward 34, enough to claim the championship. Second-placed Roets carded rounds of 71, 65, 73 and 75 to finish on four-under-par 284. Haydn Porteous and Keegan Thomas shared third place on three-under-par 285.
For his victory, Krog earned 380.40 Order of Merit points, while Roets received 264.
