Fresh from making history by winning the Uganda Professional Open at Uganda Golf Club, the Ugandan professional produced another outstanding performance to add the MTN Pro-Tee title to his growing list of achievements.

Following a course-record eight-under-par 63 at Entebbe Golf Club on moving day on Thursday, Rugumayo followed it up with a 64 in the final round to finish on 16-under-par 268, seven shots ahead of Abraham Ainamani.

The victory capped a splendid final 36 holes in which Rugumayo dropped just a single shot. He had opened the tournament with rounds of 70 and 71 before producing his course record-breaking 63 and a near-flawless 64 to storm to victory.

In the final round, Rugumayo started his front nine with a birdie at the first hole before adding further birdies at the third, fourth and seventh. He then bogeyed the eighth but bounced back with another birdie at the ninth to make the turn in 31.

After the turn, he produced a flawless run, picking up three birdies at the 14th, 15th and 18th for an inward 33 to complete a dominant performance.

Runner-up Ainamani finished on nine-under-par 275, with rounds of 68, 70, 67 and 70. He was followed by Rodell Gaita in third place on seven-under-par 277 after rounds of 67, 70, 69 and 71.

Grace Kasango finished fourth on four-under-par 280, with scores of 72, 70, 70 and 68. In fifth place was Silver Opio on one-under-par 283 after rounds of 76, 68, 69 and 70.

David Kamulindwa finished sixth on one-over-par 285 after carding rounds of 74, 70, 69 and 72. He was one shot ahead of seventh-placed Phillip Kasozi, who carded rounds of 75, 72, 74 and 65 to finish on two-over-par 286.

Deo Akope finished eighth on three-over-par 287 with rounds of 68, 69, 75 and 75, while Herman Mutaawe finished ninth on six-over-par 290 after scores of 71, 73, 71 and 75.
